Simple Day

It was simply too early to wake up this morning. Sleep is something I don't get much of and waking up is the hardest task of the day. Eventually I pulled myself out of bed and started my chores. There was not a lot going on today. The younger kids wanted to play outside, so I had to go outside and clear the area of zombies and bring a whole new meaning to Life Guard. We were going to work outside all day long today, but the heat was excruciating and being inside just sounded so much better.
We came in from work early and pretty much relaxed. We now have chickens. During the power outages we went out of the town limits and found some live chickens on a farm. We're keeping them alive, but we killed one tonight. Chicken is so delicious when it is stripped from you. There are plenty of roaming cows out there, but it's way to complicated to herd them back to the house and safely get them within our gates.
Other than that, today was pretty uneventful.
