We set out for town today. Andrew, Casey and I left around dawn and made out way through the dark, cool woods to US 2, our route back into the Valley of Death. The morning was calm, birds sang and we saw a few deer as we treked down the highway, passing rusted hulks of old cars and skeletons of those who didnt make it out of them. You could see some of the cars had been burned, where as others were just abandoned and left to the elements. New plants were growing up through the cracks in the road and in some of the hulks. It seems that nature was soldiering on, not giving any mind to humans.
We walked on for several hours, only encountering one Rotter. He had been belted into his Lexus and couldnt get out, we just left alone. We didnt want to alert any others to our presence. Shortly after, Andrew called our attention to something interesting he found. It was a zombie, a freshly killed zombie. I asked him if he shot it and he said no. As far as we knew up to this point we were alone up in the hills. We pushed on, but that was still troubling me. We encountered a few more, fresh kills as we headed closer to town. I wonder who we will meet when we get back to "Civilization".
