'The Awakening' Word Doc. Page 2 (LBREBNER_PDA)

I've decided to label the 'chapters' of my Chronicle as it were to better explain the content.
I've been made aware that some force is taking over America, explains what the old bastard was mumbling about over a fortnight ago. I saw it first on a TV in a local pub, those people seemed a little more normal. Not coughing and wheezing, and a little light hearted for old fellas. But normal. I watched riots and fires burning, cities and roads blocked, people running, from well, people running. All from a Heli-cam. Some viral strain, airbourne in the early stages, the Champion Virus, or Campion Virus, something like that had developed a new strain. Having worked with ViroTech.Corp the anatomy of the strain, would create precisely what the news said, at first, an Epidemic, then when it hits red alert, or grade six, and Pandemic.
Something involving the dead was said, but I guess they were talking about the toll it was taking. I diverted my attention to gathering supplies and to prepare to get on the move.
Would you believe, not one prick from the village wanted to drive me to the nearest, big town? Bastards. I'm having to hike, they reckoned that if the virus was airbourne it could have taken to the winds, but that would have been since February, now, apparently it's transmitted through fluid to fluid contact. And what bothered me the most was that the most common one was saliva-blood transmission. So basically... FUCKING BITES! Jesus... Anyway, I've got my gear, got new kit, new everything. Food in my belly and more than enough rations and drink. So going with the directions of some old birds at a bench, I'm just heading out. By the looks of it, the weather will hold for a while but it looks like it may turn later.

And thing's are taking a turn for the best for me, and worst for the USA.
