The Black Pearl Is Coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I know this isn't directly zombie related but I thought I'd share it with you, my friends and freaks.....

I just got the word that my new video cam has shipped!!! For me this is kind of a big deal as I have not had a new cam for nearly 10 years. The one I had been using was an old Sony Digi8. She was a good girl but her time has long since past and it's time to retire her to the secondary angle position.

My new girl is a Canon HV30. She is bad, black, and sexy. Just like I like my women to be :-)

As a guy who comes from a long line of Celtic warriors and being a dork/nerd/geek I have a habit of naming all of my weapons and my cameras. Dorky I know. But my people always named their weapons and media has always been my greatest weapon (although I can still jack yer ass up with a blade and I'm not a bad shot either :-P).

The new cam is called The Black Pearl. The idea came from a line in PotC :

"Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and sails; that's what a ship needs. Not what a ship is. What the Black Pearl really is, is freedom."

I've always felt that a camera can give you that same kind of freedom. So I altered the quote a little....

"Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a camera is, you know. It's not just a lens and a viewfinder and film; that's what a camera needs. Not what a camera is. What the Black Pearl really is, is freedom."

With this new cam I should be able to contribute alot more to the LZ cause.


Well anyway thanks for listening my little friends and freaks. I'm giddy as a school girl right now.
