It wasent long before Ben started hatching a plan as we drove down the congested road. I guess he was the survivalist type with all kinds of wepons at his disposal. " I could hold up for months maybe even years in my fortified shelter back home". Ben said. The only problem was that home was upstate New york and we were far from there. He went on to tell me that he was a sniper scout in Vetnam and that he even did some mersonary work after that war in south America and the Congo. Who was I to dought him? In fact I was kinda glad that someone other than I wanted to stand up and take charge of the situation. the only thing I could think of doing was to dig a hole and hide ontill this whole thing would blow over. The mother and little girl were fast asleep in the back of my truck as Ben went on to tell me his plan. " We get to my place in Russel N.Y. and we are safe. That town population is only about twelve thousand and its surounded by dence woods and hills". Ben went on to say " then there is my place. Five foot thick walls and steel shutters on all windows and doors. everything within my place is self suficient. I got a bilt in genny and enough food and water for about two years. oh and did I mention the guns? See Ive been kinda watin for something like this to happen for a wile now". " I got to admit I was thinkin more along the lines of nuclear war or some kind of invasion, but this will work just fine". Ben said this with a look on his face that was almost like a child on Christmas. Somehow for some reasion it just made me feel very uneasey. Did I want to put my life in the hands of a conspirist? Some people say if you plan something to much one wrong move can ruin everything. I beleve that! But what should we do? What could we do? At this point we had no weapons unless you consider my work truck as one, and know one else had any kind of plan. So just for the sake of saying that we had some kind of plan we stated rambling north. To some little hill town in the god forsaking north of New york state. It was a plan and it was hope. But first we had to take care of the gas gauge problem. It was on E and that means we got to find gas and find it quick, and get out of the safety of the full tone truck with out any wepons!
