(Cut. Begin transmission)
“Hello. Hello? Is this working? ...Whatever. Here goes nothin’.”
(Break. 5 second pause)
“My name is (name). I am sending this message for anyone to receive. I hope this works. Anyway, I am a 36-year-old male, survivor, from the central Connecticut area, located on top of some radio transmission building just south on the outskirts of the city, Worcester, Massachusetts.”
(Break. 5 second pause)
“We left Montreal, Canada 7 days ago and arrived early yesterday to this location. It is now 10:19 am here, according to my ‘still-working-but-no-service-cell phone’…and it is sometime in the beginning of autumn. Jeeze, It seems it has been about a month since this (**) happened, I think. But…umm...we are secure and safe here for the time being. Most of us are in need of some over-due rest. We will stay here maybe till tomorrow morning then head back toward Connecticut to find better answers to what the (**) is happening, which will probably be a bad call. Who knows? We do find that more freaks exist the closer we get to urban centers”
(Break. 12 second pause)
“…With me are (name) age 36, (name) age 36, (name) age 37, (name) 36, (name) 37, (name) 37, . We are all from the central Connecticut area. Since our departure, we have lost 2. All present have not found any family members alive or ...dead. We have 2 capable vehicles, enough food, equipment and weapons found along the way. Most of us have learned weapons handling while in transit, but we all feel pretty confident. Sometimes it can be more stressful to use the weapons than to actually bash the (**) head of one of those things up close.
“Anyway, this message may be long and winded, but please understand if this works (broadcast), then I hope to reach sane living people and get them to understand what we are going through, what it takes to survive this (**) AND to get us the (**) outta here.”
(Break. 7 second pause)
“… my group and I arrived early yesterday sometime remarkably with little resistance. Over the last few days we figured ‘them’ out somewhat. I mean their movements. In time we all have managed to read the ‘freak’s patterns’ and the way ‘they’ move. So, it had been easy, so far, to avoid any serious ambushes or their ‘running hoards’.
“First I want to explain about the ‘running hoards’ or ‘the ruining whores’ what we now call ‘them’...”
(Loud explosion…pause…several smaller explosions)
“Wholly (**)! That was what looked like a gas station just go up in flames. It happened about ¼ mile from here just down this street. ….hmmm, right now there are several ‘freaks’ on fire just burning away where they fell. Let me see...Looks like it from here anyway. Go to hell (**)…
“Don’t Worry about me. We are all safe here. (**)! That was a big-(**)fire ball… cool. Well, we're OK. Which leads me up to another fact: when hunting, high ground is the best ground.’ But I’ll get back to that later…
“Anyway…ummm…oh, yeah. ‘The running hoards’. Hmmm…My buddies and I have learned something very valuable about these ‘freaks’. Or zombies. Whatever the (**) it is. They appear to be zombies, or act like them from what we all saw in those ‘zombie movies’. In which case, we learned, that those undead things initially infected move much slower than their ‘fresh bitin’ companions. I cannot really explain, but from what we witnessed anyway, how that things just bit are now movin’ around, walkin’ around faster?… just like the ‘living dead freaks’ that are infected and roaming the streets here.
"Hold on...I think something is about to go down...I'll make this quick."
“I'm not an expert on what is going on but I will report what we have witnessed and experienced. Now, it also seems they tend to be attracted to the living. Human or animal. Just like a shark to blood. Like a moth to a flame. Which is what brings them into a hoard. It is not much to get away from those freaks that are very slow, they come apart very easy and are way easier to kill. The ‘fresh dead’ ones are the real bastards. They move fast and the majority we saw along the way move in hoards. Occasionally small groups or as individuals are seen. They are easy to kill also…just as long as you have good running distance and a clear head shot. But those (**) are surprisingly scary. No question…kill ‘em on sight.”
(Break 15 second pause)
“The humid weather I never liked. Made me sick to my stomach. Earlier on, during the late summer, I have learned to hate the humidity even more. The stench of the dead in the stagnant air was thick. God-awful. Not only did it make us puke…but some of us got severely ill the first few days. On the other hand, the stronger the smell was, it made us aware that those ‘freaks’ were close. Gave their location away. The (**).”
(Break. 10 second pause.)
“What I am going to tell is what we know from our experiences and our stressful ordeals. Hopefully this information will get to somebody. We have learned first off that they can be stopped. Removing or destroying the head, burning or blowing the (**) outta the zombies (or what ever they are) seems to be the only way to stop them. This may be obvious to those who are still alive and are more experienced killers than my group. Also we have learned along the way that animals are not infected. However, the 'freaks' aggressively attack and eat any animal just as they do toward us ‘living’ people.
(Break. 5 second pause.)
“We have discovered that the ‘freaks’ are very aggressive and tend to rip and eat living flesh. We have witnessed on many occasions that they will kill no matter what. There is no way to reason with them. Their bites or when they tear at the flesh of the living is an imminent sealed doom. We have learned that immediate disposal of the newly infected is a must. No questions asked. We are still reeling from the trauma of killing ‘loved ones’ that have 'turned'. What is still unknown to us is how long the infection takes effect from contact to full blown ‘freak-a-zoid’.
“Along the way, particularly the central New Hampshire area, we came into contact with other survivors. The only thing I can say for them is they seemed to be a bunch of unorganized criminals. The experience with those ‘others’ are irrelevant to this message. Only that our fear of the living is now equal to the ‘undead’. Now, we avoid other roaming unlawful survivors and protect our own. As of yet we have had no contact with other organized resistance or military forces in the New England area. Although plenty of gun fire is heard constantly in the distances (city, rural or suburbs) and a few weeks ago we have witnessed many military aircraft doing sweeps of the area almost on a daily basis. But the aircraft sorties have since ceased. Not even birds are seen in the skies now-a-days. All cities and towns we passed have all been abandoned and a majority of the cities are in flames. Hell is on earth people...”
(Unclear audible break. 15 second pause)
“…is the best tool for the killing… .12 gauge double buck or flaming devices are…”
(Unclear audible break. 10 second pause)
“…but there is plenty. Enough to probably take us cross country… The Hummers tend to eat lots of fuel… …military ones…. no doors for easy dismount…”
(Unclear audible break. 35 second pause)
“We also learned that resting in high ground- parking garages, open hill-tops, open freeways, well lit parking lots are the best area. This is because of distance and avenues-of-approach the blood thirsty (**)might take to get to us…we could deal with them no problem due to the weapon systems we have on our vehicle mounts…and due to the high alert and rage the guys have in the group.”
(Break. 8 second pause.)
“…seems to be chaotic at times….”
(Unclear audible break. 15 second pause)
“…the children… always…”
(Unclear audible break. 24 second pause)
“How many? …(**) that! …heads up… Lock and load!”
(Unclear audible break. 15 second pause)
“…right! Gotta go!…hold on! We are under…”
(End transmission)
