Things don't need a reason.

Sometimes shit just happens. Not everything fulfills a prophecy or is an act of god. Sometimes, a series of events happens for no reason and destroys everything. This apocalypse is nothing special; it’s just the way things played out. 

The past few years, the media has died out completely, but before everything went dead, everyone had a silly theory about why the dead were coming back to life. A lot of people to the religious or superstitious stance and a few people had rational scientific theories. Then there were people like me, who didn’t give a flying fuck about how or why there were zombies because we were more concerned with not getting eaten.

It’s been almost six years since this all started. Five years since Florida was “hit”.  My people and I have been traveling up the east coast, going city-to-city collecting the uninfected. I’ve seen this hell on earth first hand. If there is a god, it wouldn’t be cruel enough to put strain on humanity. Sometimes, bad shit just happens.
