Unknown Fire Seen Across Bay

I was filming some footage of my fishing area on the island. I saw a column of smoke rising from a hill south of San Francisco. Our observation plane was sent to investigate. It appears a group of survivors in an apartment block were battling a swarm of infected. Word came down from the brass that my team is going to be sent on a recon/rescue mission. Through radio comms the observation plane was able to determine there are 5 survivors left. Eight of us are going in with another four man team providing overwatch and cover. We're being inserted on three rigid inflatable boats we found on Coast Guard Island.

The plan is to go in after the sun sets. We're operating on the assumption that we'll have an advantage in the darkness with our NOD's and IR illums. We're currently gearing up. I'm about to head to the ammo storage locker to draw my ammo allotment. If I have time, I'll film the preparation process and the method behind the madness of applying mascara (camo cream). I'll upload the footage when I get back from this mission.
