Well we woke up this morning to the sight of four of those creatures clawing away at the front door of the barber shop we were sleeping in. It scared the ever loving shit out of me because I was the first one who was woken up from the slapping of the glass. Ironically, one of them was Pete, the guy who used to own the barber shop. I don't know, I thought it was pretty funny. Anyway, I woke my mom up and we gathered everything we had and took it all to the car behind the shop. I didn't wake my sister because I knew she wouldn't want to see more of those things trying to get us, so I carried her to the car and layed her in the back seat and let her sleep. We were off to the city to find my brother.

Before we left our house after the first (might as well be a hundred) reported case of the Campion virus in our town, we grabbed some supplies we thought we would need. I knew my brother and I had thses walkie-talkies in our room somewhere so I went looking for those first. I appointed myself in charge of finding as many weapons as I could find in my house. The very first thing I grabbed was my little league aluminum baseball bat. (I quit baseball when I was about 14 and never thought I would need it again. Thank God[?] I never got rid of it.) After I found my bat, I literally couldn't think of anything else in my house we could actually use to defend ourselves with. The only other thing we could actually use would be some croquet mallets in our shed, so I grabbed how ever many we had in there. And then I saw it.....a gas-powered chainsaw, and whaddya know, a decent sized jug full of gas sitting right next to it. (There had to be at least three or four gallons of gas.) So I grabbed the mallets and threw them into the trunk of my car, went back for the chainsaw and gas, tossed those in the trunk as well, and we were all set to defend ourselves from the things. But while I'm in my driveway putting everything into my car, I see my aunt's door has been busted open and the glass broken. (My aunt lived downstairs and my mom, brother, sister and I lived upstairs.) The fool that I am, I stepped a few feet inside, but I didn't say anything. I look to my right and that's where I saw it. One of those things devouring my aunt. It's back was turned to me so I crept out to my car, grabbed my bat, and just went to town on the thing. I started hitting it in its back but it just turned around, looked at me, and started coming after me. That's when I smashed its face in. It fell to the floor, and I pounded away at it a few more times just to make sure. I then ran upstairs and told my mom and sister what just happened. We grabbed all the food we could squeeze into four backpacks and got out of our house as fast as we could. None of us could bring ourselves look at my aunt on the floor in her living room before we left. So far, that's the only one of those things I had to kill.

So we were on our way to the city to find Tom. My mom, sister and I haven't been to the city since before the outbreak. My brother and his friends have been alone there for the past few months. The only reason we never went looking for him sooner is because he told us him and his friends were able to handle themselves. That was back when there was nine of them. The last time we spoke to him he told us that it was down to just him and his two friends and my mom and I decided it was time to go get him.
The drive to the city was pretty much like any drive we've taken since the outbreak started: just a bunch of "dead" walking around. But no matter how much I see it over and over again, I can't get used to it, though I suppose I have grown accustomed to some of it since I don't immediately look away when I see a person being attacked, I just try to not pay attention to it. But once we got to the George Washington Bridge, it was a completely different sight. There were some scattered cars on the bridge, not close enough where we couldnt drive across, but not one of those things were on the bridge. But as we drove across, I looked down at the water and saw what had to be hundreds of bodies just floating there. It made me sick.
We made our way through the city. It was INFESTED with the walking dead. I was not prepared at all. I guess I should've seen it coming, though. The city HAD a population of several million people, of which I can only assume an extremely large percentage of is now walking around trying to eat each other. So I turned our cell phone on and called Tom. He said he was still at Radio City Music Hall. But he was the only one out of his friends who was left. Except he wasn't on the roof like we were originally expecting. He was trapped inside of one of the bathrooms on the first floor. He said when him and his two friends got to the roof, they were immediately attacked by two of the creatures who were already on the roof. His two friends were attacked but he was able to run back downstairs and barricade himself in the bathroom. He said that he assumed it was only the two creatures and his two friends outside the door pounding away trying to get in. So I told him we were on our way and we'd be there in about ten minutes.
I told my mom that there was no choice but for one of us, preferably me, to run in there and do my best to save him. I told my mom to drop me off in front of the building, drive around the block a few times until she saw us again, and then pick us up as fast as she could. So we got there, I grabbed a walkie-talkie, my mom had the other, I filled up the chainsaw with gas, and jumped out of the car, ran inside and shut the door.
I could hear them beating away on the door from the entrance of Radio City Music Hall, though I couldn't see them. The noises they were making were horrible moaning sounds. They sounded like they were in so much pain. I started up the chainsaw and started walking. It didn't take too long before I saw them. Only one of them was able to move fast, and that one saw me first and ran towards me with such speed, I didn't have time to move the chainsaw, so it just ran right into it. I lifted the saw, and it just sliced right through its upper body and through its head. The other three were not fast moving at all. I got behind one and cut its head off. Then there was just the two girls left. I had no choice but to do the same to them. It seemed like they didn't even know I was there. They were just so focused on getting that door open. We're extremely lucky I got there when I did. It looked like they were starting to get through the door. I yelled for my brother and he opened the door. He confirmed for me that he was alright, not bitten or hurt in anyway. I called my mom on the walkie and told her I had him and she said she was just around the corner. I asked Tom if there was anyone else in the building, and he said no. They searched the whole place when they first got there and were in fact all alone, besides for the roof of course. So I told my mom what he told me, and we decided to stay there for the rest of the day and for the night. My mom parked the car just outside, my sister grabbed all the food, they got inside as fast as they could and we barricaded the doors. We made our way up to the roof where we're spending the night. The plan is to go back home tomorrow and try to get in contact with anyone we can and meet up with them.
I'll try and write again as soon as I can.
Goodnight again.......

I love how detailed this is! Its really fantasic. I personally perfer wooden bats, aluminum ones tend to bend after frequent bashings. If you come across a wooden one pick it up. They are more realiable, and it could save your life.
