When the grid went down things were still going back and forth. The Zeke's were this, then they were that. The virus had these characteristics, then twelve hours later they were all different. It was airborne, then it wasn't. It was respiratory, it was contact, it was blood borne, it was evil fucking spirits. It was plain at the end that the stories were being spun in some producers imagination as he sat in his office waiting to start coughing, or for the door to cave in and his news crew to eat him.
Now, trying to figure out the next right thing to do, information is hard to come by. Lots of us have fought walkers, and even the odd runner, but we really know squat about them. How long do they last? Do they do anything to make themselves last longer? What are their weaknesses? How and why do they choose where to go, what to do, who to attack? What are their actual capabilities?
Our plan to this point has been to stay hunkered down, kill them when they appear, and hope they continue to show up in ones and twos. I am thinking it's time to start doing some real recon. I am getting pretty tired of waiting for shit to fall on us. It's time to start treating them like an enemy instead of a force of nature. I am thinking tomorrow is a good day to check out the nearest town. It's only ten miles or so, and I am sure there were Zeke's there during the burn through. Time to meet the fucking neighbors.
