so i'm going to go ahead and assume this is a bedroom and not a study. first thing i do is slap some sense into the 14 year old and if they don't do what i say i leave them there as zombie bait. if they obey me i send them up into the vent and tell them to wait till they break through and start making as much noise as they can. then i kick two legs off the desk after there in the vent making it so the zombies can't get to the kid and giving me a weapon. i use one of the legs to smash out the glass of the window. then i use what ever i can find, preferably bed sheets but in a pinch clothes will work, to make a rope to lower me out of the window. if there's an anchor point in the room i tie the line to it. other wise i tie it to the other chair leg and prop into the corner of the window using my weight to keep it in place like Brucie boy did in diehard. going out the window just as the zombies break in. hopefully like i said the kid in the vent is doing what i said making a lot of noise distracting the zombies away from me. hes in the vent he's safer so hes the decoy. if he didn't Liston to me then i just saved the time of getting their ass in the vent and the zombies descending on him like a bunch of fat chicks at a buffet will give me time to escape. if he Liston then we try to meetup with him crawling out through the vent after i signal him that I'm clear.

if i can't make a rope or don't have tome the zombies break in before i can complete it, then i go out the window anyway. hopefully there will be something for me to crawl down on or there will be like an over hang or something you weren't really clear about that. if not i take the fall. its only two story's and a chance is better then finding out how a sushi roil feels. best case i can walk it off. worst case i hurt or maybe break my leg but again at least i got a fighting chance. .
