Zombie CSU: The Forensics of the Living Dead

Zombie CSU: The Forensics of the Living Dead by Jonathan Maberry:

Jonathan Maberry discloses how real science and police work and how they would deal with the undead. The book tells how the proper personnel investigate a crime scene as well as how investigators collect and analyze evidence. It also gives details based on real medical science. The book gives great detail provided by professionals. I thought it was an interesting read but it had some major problems in the first chapter (and the chapters are incredibly long). It starts out explaining that zombies are not real way too many times. The book keeps jumping back and forth from fact to fiction. It gets quite annoying after a while. The overall effect the author intended is lost early on. The pictures and the comments from the artists takes away from what is otherwise a serious subject. I would prefer to have it be text only. After the first chapter, it cranks up the pace. The back and forth from fact and fiction begins to feel less forced. It's a chore to read at first, but once your in the second chapter, It becomes hard to put down. It's perfect for those that are interested in police work and proper investigative procedures.
