to be fair boarding the windows and doors wasnt a good idea, the noise would have attracted the zombies. and as the survivor broke into the famhouse i take it its not his house, so you should have took him with you to the town as he would have been an extra pair of hands to carry supplies, plus he has a gun which would help in an attack
