Comment by Carrie Marie on April 23, 2012 at 2:21pm Omega, thank you for the wise and thoughtful post. We really don't like to think about death, or even consider it when the risk is there. I think people live in the present, and don't consider the dangers they'll be faced with when something terrible happens.
Yeah, ironically ROTLD is my favorite as well, though that was not the intent of making my zombies unkillable, when I wrote this story, I wanted them to be a truly fearsome foe, not some "headshot" and move on. It makes people have to work together, to get creative, to really put their minds in motion to stay alive.
I'm glad you liked it though Omega, we hope to bring you more, on the YouTube page, there is a Kickstarter campaign going, if you'd like to toss in and help us get this to some horror film festivals, that would be grandiose! :)
"Death isn't something we like to think about" I love that. It's true. Samurai actually focused meditations on their death daily. The skull and crossbones is a reference to mortality also for freemasons. To remind them both to live in the present. to it's fullest. Alot of people need to realize tomorrow isn't promised and to do the best you can with this moment right now. Also love the zombies not dyeing that's what makes the rotld movies my favorites. it never ends. Killer job guys and girls! I really enjoyed the hell outta this!
Comment by Carrie Marie on April 5, 2012 at 6:35pm Well thanks for your thoughts, advice, and opinions Daniel. You're right, we're not all nurses and cheerleaders! Glad someone can appreciate that.
The acting obviously was raw, but creating both fear/doubt while trying to focus on holding a camera can be a tough thing. Though for a first outing, I don't think is was too bad. Though I agree there could be some more work done.
Well if we can get the funding of course, or picked up at a festival, there will be a lot more to come. If not, well, at least we got an excellent reel for the future :)
Comment by Daniel on April 4, 2012 at 4:12pm I think he meant owned at the end. Lovely video though. I do like the uncommon main character. Not all women are nurses or cheerleaders. :)
Sure some of the acting scenes could of been run through again. Some of the acting was a bit forced, and other times it was very real. Self interview scenes are difficult until you get more experience doing them. Try talking/acting through the prior events before sitting down for the interview. It can help you get into the mindset. Also try and get a scene that puts you in the mentality of a survivor.
Great start and I look forward to seeing what more you can do. :)
