I'm not so sure about the katana, in order to be truly effective with it you have to train for quite some time. Swords aren't something you can just pick up and use (no matter how easy they make it look in the movies). In my opinion, having a multitude of weapons is always a good choice. For distance, give me a double-barrelled shotgun, or, if I can get my hands on one, a military issued semi-automatic rifle (M-16 would work, since I've been trained on that-- and can hit any target, moving or non, from 150 yards away with a 98% accuracy, day or night), razored boomerang or throwing stars would be good too for when the bullets are out of the mag or just plain gone. I'd have to train on those though. Hmmmm...I think I'll put that on my to-do list.

For close up work, crow bars are sturdier than a baseball bat, but I'd still like the bat due to the ease of accuracy in the swing. I'd use the crowbar as a backup for when the bat breaks.

Assuming gas or an alternative fuel is available, a chainsaw would just be too damned fun to pass up. tee hee. This, of course, is assuming that the zombies are the slow and rambling type so I've got enough time to power up the thing.

i could teach you how to throw knives and stars when the time comes it's pretty simple to understand it's pretty much just practice that's the trouble

But would the throwing stars go thru that thick undead skull and hit brain?

no throwing stars dont work

tried them on a zombie, have you?

Throwing stars are not designed to kill. In reality they were meant as distractions. Often the users of throwing stars would allow the blade to rust. This would kill the target with a tetanus infection.

i was thinking the same thing as chris. not to mention even if it could cut through is the little point on the star long enough to be effective? i'd try to use something to stun so i can flee, like maybe a good slingshot or even a nice throw with a rock. but that's just me.

no double barrol shotgun, most of them are break open and they only hold 2 shells, you need a home defense short barrel. remington makes a nice 870 express, its the police and military police issue. 5 round pump

What's wrong with a breech-loading shotgun? If that's what she has, then that's what she needs to use instead of going on some random quest for a dream weapon. A breech-loading double barreled shotgun will work just fine for the people who aren't trying to wage a one-man war on the zombies.
