Alex finally came back from his supply run a few hours ago. The stores he went to aren't so far away, but he didn't elaborate on why he was gone so long, just told me to shut up and do what he said if I was interested in staying alive. I haven't written in a while, but circumstances sorta prevented that. Basically, on the way back from Radioshack (picked clean), we got stopped by the cops! They had us all step out of the car and questioned us about any suspicious activity that had happened or any attacks we might've experienced. None of us had, but it was really unsettling -- between those cops and the newscasters I keep seeing telling us all about the supposed "gang warfare" sweeping the county, I've never seen so many freake… Continue

Here's more on that injured guy who washed up on the shore yesterday -- my friend's mom works at the hospital, so I got a lot of the details. He must've been crazy or something, because she said the guy didn't speak at all. He sort of moaned and made "weird, animal-like sounds," according to the staff. So, today was kind of nice -- spent most of it at the beach, winding down from finals and trying to escape all the bad shit on the news lately. It seems like every time I turn on the TV or load up my feed reader, there's another depressing news story -- wildfires, crazed locals, gang riots...
